Ocean County Mall Stabbing

 

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Emergency personnel responded to the Ocean County Mall on Friday following a reported stabbing that occurred after a large fight broke out inside the shopping center, authorities said.

The incident took place at the Ocean County Mall, located at 1201 Hooper Avenue, where police and medical responders were dispatched after receiving reports of a disturbance involving multiple individuals.

Officials confirmed that one person was injured in the incident and was treated by emergency medical personnel. The extent of the victim’s injuries and their current condition have not been released.

Law enforcement officers secured the area while investigating the circumstances surrounding the fight and stabbing. It was not immediately clear whether any suspects were taken into custody or what led to the altercation.

Shoppers and mall employees were advised to avoid the affected areas during the response. No additional injuries were reported.

Authorities stated there is no ongoing threat to the public as the investigation continues.
